1 Before you use it

What it is

The revised FIQ — 21 items across function, overall impact and symptoms, all on consistent 0–10 numeric scales, which removes the original's awkward mixed formats.

When to reach for it

Preferred over the original FIQ wherever a fibromyalgia impact measure is needed.

Patterns it serves · 1

2 Giving it

Scoring

Three domains combined to 0–100. Higher means greater impact.

What it doesn’t measure

Diagnose. Same limit as the original.

3 Reading the score

Interpreting it

Is the change real?

No verified MCID or MDC is carried in our library for this measure, so the number on its own cannot tell you a change is real. Compare it to this patient's own baseline and say what changed functionally.

Student trap. Comparing an FIQ score to an FIQR score. Different instruments, not convertible.
