1 Before you use it
What it is
A lateral-hip-specific questionnaire covering pain, sleep disturbance and functional limitation in greater trochanteric pain syndrome.
VISA-G is the better-established option — this is an adjunct, particularly where sleep disruption is the dominant complaint.
When to reach for it
As an adjunct in gluteal tendinopathy, especially where night pain and side-lying tolerance are the main complaints.
2 Giving it
Scoring
Item content and scoring vary by version. State which version you used and stay with it.
What it doesn’t measure
Abductor strength, or differential diagnosis.
3 Reading the score
Interpreting it
Is the change real?
Student trap. Reaching for this over VISA-G. If you only use one for gluteal tendinopathy, use VISA-G.
