1 Before you use it
What it is
The full-length Örebro — 25 items, of which 21 are scored, covering pain, function, distress, fear-avoidance, work and expectation of recovery.
Use the short form on placement. This version exists for research and for cases where the extra detail earns its ten minutes.
When to reach for it
When the short form has flagged risk and you want the detail, or where a service requires the full version.
For routine placement screening, the 10-item short form does the job in half the time.

Scoring
Twenty-one scored items summed to 0–210. Several items are reverse-scored — check before totalling.
What it doesn’t measure
Diagnose anything psychological. It is a disability risk screen and it stays inside that scope.
3 Reading the score
Interpreting it
Higher means greater risk of prolonged disability and failure to return to work. **A cut-point around 105 is commonly cited.
Read the items. As with the short form, the subscore pattern is more actionable than the total.
Is the change real?
Student trap. Running the 25-item version routinely when the 10-item version answers the same question in three minutes.

This is a learning tool. It does not diagnose patients and does not replace your clinical educator.
