1 Before you use it
What it is
Built for ankle fracture outcomes. Nine items — pain, stiffness, swelling, stair climbing, running, jumping, squatting, supports required, and work/activities of daily living.
When to reach for it
Post-ankle-fracture rehabilitation, and after syndesmotic injury with or without fixation.
2 Giving it
Scoring
Nine weighted items totalling 0–100. Higher is better.
What it doesn’t measure
Instability, balance, or range in degrees.
3 Reading the score
Interpreting it
Interpret against baseline.
Supports required is a useful item — it captures the transition from boot to shoe that a function score misses.
Is the change real?
Student trap. Using it for a sprain. It was built for fractures and its items assume that trajectory.

This is a learning tool. It does not diagnose patients and does not replace your clinical educator.
