1 Before you use it
What it is
A modular alternative to KJOC for throwing athletes, with a general arm function core plus optional throwing- and pitching-specific modules.
Its advantage over KJOC is that it works on an injured athlete who is not currently playing — the core module doesn't assume competition.
When to reach for it
Throwing athletes, particularly mid-rehabilitation when they are not competing and KJOC's competition-based items don't apply.
2 Giving it
Scoring
Modular; the core plus whichever sport modules apply, reported 0–100. Higher is better.
What it doesn’t measure
Tissue status, range or strength.
3 Reading the score
Interpreting it
Interpret against baseline.
Is the change real?
Student trap. Reaching for KJOC on an athlete who's three weeks post-injury and not throwing. Half its items won't apply — use this instead.
